Nicholasville First Assembly of God traces its beginnings to the summer of 1936, when Rev. M. M. Johnson held Gospel meetings on the Jessamine County Courthouse lawn. Later that year, a revival was conducted inside the courthouse, sparking interest in forming a church.
Despite financial challenges and the lack of a building, a small group of believers faithfully gathered in homes. In 1941, Rev. C. W. Modder arrived to help establish the church, and services soon moved to a rented building on Stratton Avenue. In 1944, the congregation purchased the property, trusting God through sacrifice and steady growth.
As the church expanded, a new block building was constructed in 1954. In 1984, our present sanctuary was built on Wilmore Road, providing space for continued ministry.
Today, we remain committed to sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ — reaching up, reaching in, and reaching out.
About Us
Nicholasville First Assembly of God is located just down the road from West Jessamine High School. We are a church family made up of people from many different backgrounds, ages, and seasons of life.
Our desire is simple: to be a place where people feel welcome, encouraged, and at home. Whether you’ve been in church your whole life or you’re just beginning your faith journey, there’s a place for you here.
Our church is led by Pastor Rev. Bruce Floyd, whose heart is to share God’s Word, care for people, and help others grow in their relationship with Jesus.
We strive to live out our mission each day — reaching up, reaching in, and reaching out.
